Will the consumer tax credits for home improvements be renewed for 2008?
As of December 31, 2007, most of the consumer tax credits expired. You have until April 15, 2008 to report these credits on your 2007 taxes. Legislation to extend the tax credits was proposed in December 2007, but did not pass both houses of Congress. How long will an appointment last?
Our sales representative will visit your home or property after an appointment has been set for a specific time on a specific day. The meeting should not last longer than one hour and we will leave a written proposal with you.

Will I be pressured to buy at the time of your sales presentation?
You will not be pressured to buy at the time the proposal is written or any time thereafter. We appreciate the opportunity to provide you with our quote. The price presented in your proposal will be honored for a minimum of 30 days. Your price will always be 30% off of retail prices.

What is the U value of Soft-Lite windows?
The Certified NFRC U-value for our highest quality window - Imperial Generations window - Ultimate Triple-pane with Low-e(2) and Low-e(5) with Krypton and Super Spacer is .17.

Why should we trust your installer?
Our installer has been installing windows for Affordable since 1997 and has 24 years of experience installing replacement windows. He also has been certified as an InstallationMaster by the InstallationMasters Institute.

How long after we place our order will our windows be installed?
Your windows will be installed approximately 4-6 weeks after you sign your contract. At the time the contract is signed, you will be given an installation date.

What time does the installer usually arrive?
John, our installer, will arrive at your home between 8 and 8:30 a.m. You may make arrangements with John to get into your home if you cannot be home. You do not need to be home for us to install your windows. Affordable Windows, Doors & More, Inc. is licensed, bonded and insured so you are protected whether you are home during installation or away.

Do you offer financing?
We ask for a 20% down-payment at the time the contract is signed with full payment upon completion of the project. We accept Visa and MasterCard, but do not offer any financing directly.

Do I need to remove my blinds?
Please ask installer at time of measure if blinds and curtains need to be removed from windows and doors, prior to installation. If the blinds are attached to your actual window, you may not be able to reuse your blinds. Please talk to your sales representative regarding blinds installed on a bay or a bow window as those may not be reusable. Affordable Windows, Doors & More, Inc is not responsible for damage caused to blinds that are not removed from the windows prior to installation. Homeowner will be responsible for re-attaching blinds following installation.

What else do I need to do prior to installation?
Please take down all breakables hanging on walls very close to windows. Please move all furniture near your windows and doors, away from the construction area to prevent damage or sawdust. Affordable Windows, Doors & More, Inc. will cover floors with drop cloths but depending on the number of windows, doors, or amount of new lumber being installed, there can be excessive dust in the air. We advise covering your beds, sofas and furniture with old sheets to protect them from the excessive dust caused by installation.

When do I pay for my windows, doors, siding?
Upon completion of your project, please pay your installer the balance indicated on your statement. Checks should be made payable to Affordable Windows, Doors & More, Inc. If you are not home during installation, please let the installer know where you will be leaving the check.

Will I receive a receipt with my payment?
Within one week of job completion and payment, you will receive a thank you packet consisting of a lien waiver, warranty activation number, window cleaning card, and exit interview.

Do I need to do anything if I'm having siding installed?
Please remove all breakables from the interior of the outside walls of your house as your walls will shake from the pounding outside. Please do not return your breakables until the entire project has been completed.

What do we do with the job signs placed in our yard by the installer?
We would very much appreciate if you would leave your job sign in your yard for two weeks following installation. If this is an inconvenience and you would prefer not to have a job sign in your yard, please notify the installer. You can toss the sign in the garbage after the two weeks have passed.
